HOW TO
How to use JSON to CSV
Move API data into a spreadsheet-friendly format.
- 1
Choose a JSON file containing an array of consistently shaped objects.
- 2
Process it and inspect the header row and escaped cell values.
- 3
Copy or download the CSV, then review its columns in your spreadsheet or import system.
INPUT AND OUTPUT
Start with tabular JSON rather than an arbitrary object
An array such as [{"code":"001","name":"Tea"}] describes a row with code and name columns. Consistent object keys make the CSV easier to import and review.
A single top-level object is rejected. This is not a recursive JSON flattener: prepare nested structures as explicit columns before conversion. Spreadsheet software may interpret cell values as formulas or dates, so review untrusted data before opening it.
FAQ
Common questions
Are my files uploaded?+
No. This tool processes files in browser memory on your device.
Is the tool free?+
Yes. Core processing is free, requires no account, and adds no watermark.
Why is a single JSON object rejected?+
The converter expects a top-level array. For one record, put the object inside an array, for example [{"code":"001"}].
Will nested JSON automatically become separate CSV columns?+
Do not rely on recursive flattening. Prepare a flat, consistently shaped array of records when you need predictable spreadsheet columns.
