The split is based on parsed CSV records rather than a file’s raw newline positions. Each part includes the original columns so it can be imported independently.
A row limit is not a byte-size limit: long cell values can still make a part too large for a destination system. The complete input is read in browser memory, so splitting is not a way to bypass the source-file limit.
